12 days Rwenzori, Gorilla trek & Wildlife safari takes you to Bwindi impenetrable National park, the home to world’s half of the remaining gorillas for gorilla trekking. Thereafter, you will visit Queen Elizabeth National Park for morning game drive and an afternoon launch cruise, where you expect to see animals along the lake shores on Kazinga Channel. The trip then ends with a 7 days Central circuit trail trek with an inclusive Margherita hike, thus ending with returning to Kampala.

Detailed Itinerary For the 12 days Rwenzori, Gorilla trek & Wildlife
Day 1. Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi impenetrable forest.
You will be picked up by our safari guide who will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a home of endangered mountain gorillas in Uganda. Have lunch in Mbarara town and arrive in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at Silverback Lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest
Early morning after the breakfast, you will set for gorilla tracking in Buhoma region. Gorilla .Before starting the trek, you will be given a briefing and from here you will head into the forest in search for these gentle giants .tracking is one of the best interesting activities as you watch these gorillas, see how they associate play. You are allowed to spend an hour with the gorillas. From here you will get back to the lodge for lunch and take a restful evening. Dinner and overnight stay at Silverback Lodge .
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, do afternoon Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel
Early Morning, leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Arrive in the afternoon, take lunch and go for a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. Over Night stay at Ihamba Safari Lodge.
Day 4: Morning Game drive, Transfer to Rwenzori Mountains National Park
After Breakfast, you will do a game drive in the park and then leave for Rwenzori Mountains National Park. Arrive in the afternoon. Lunch, Dinner and Overnight stay at Ruboni Community Camp.
Day 5: Start Hiking from Nyakalengija to Nyabitaba (2650m) through Bakonjo Farmstead
After breakfast you will start climbing from Nyakalengija up to Nyabitaba hut; rambling through the banana plantations on the side of the sharp slopes, past the typical Bakonjo homesteads. Continue with trail alongside the Mubuku River, through mudslides and up and down pillars and cliffs, Cross the Mahoma River and ascent sharply through halt fern hills and pod carpus forest to Nyabitaba Hut. Dinner and overnight stay at Nyabitaba Hut.
Day 6: Climb to John Matte hut (3350m):
From Nyabitaba start the trail that goes down through the forest to the Kurt Shafer Bridge, just below the convergence of the Mubuku and Bujuku rivers. Going through the bamboo forest, and strenuous expanse of glassy moss-topped rock. From the Nyamileju rock housing, Mount Stanley and Mount Speke can be viewed before reaching into the zone of the massive heather, groundsel and lobelia. Arrive at John Matte Hut after walking through the exhausting swamp. Dinner and Overnight John Matte hut.
Day 7: Hike to Bujuku Hut:
From John Matte Hut, the trail goes down to the Bujuku River. The higher Bigo Swamp gives path to Bujuku Lake, with sights of Mt Stanley to the west and Mt Baker to the South. Bujuku Hut is well situated in the follower of Mount Baker and Mount Speke, is established in a narrow valley under Steinmann pass.

Day 8: Ascend to Kitandara hut:
Departing from Bujuku, the trail ascents through steep slopes west of the lake, going through the enchanted Groundsels Gully as it climbs to Scott-Elliot Pass at 4372m. At the top of the gorge a metallic ladder takes you over a vertical area after which the trail separates into two. The right trail going up to Elena Hut and Mount Stanley on a sharp trail over large rocks. The left path goes to Scott. Elliot passes and down to Kitandara Lakes.

Day 9: Climbing to the Peak Margherita.
When ascending to Margherita summit (5109m), carry on to the slopes of the Stanley Glacier. It can take 4 to 7 hour to reach the summit of Margherita. Climbing to the peak requires technical climb which involves more of roping up, crampons and suitable gears for cold, stormy and frosty conditions. It is greatest to challenge the last hike in group of 4 people (two climbers and two guides); hike on to the glacier, cross the Stanly Hill and continue with the climb. Coming back to Scott- Elliot pass, slope to the Kitandara Hut for overnight, past the Kitandara Lakes. Dinner and overnight stay at Kitandara Hut.
Day 10: Hike Mt Stanley to Guy Yeoman Hut (3260m)
From Kitandara, the trail ascends steeply up the head-wall, spreading out from the base of Mount Baker and continuing along the south side of the mountain to Fresh field pass. From the pass, the long muddy descent continues, passing the rock shelter at Bujangolo, the base camp for the historic expedition by the Duke of Abruzzi in 1906.
Day 11: Trek through Nyabitaba (2650m) to Nyakalengija
The path down can be slippery and muddy with little to hold on to and requires careful balancing over the vertical mud or steep rock. From trek down the 40 minutes trail to see Lake Mahoma, and later on descend to the park head quarters for cerificates upon your successful trek
An overnight stop at the Nyabiaba Hut.
Day 12: Drive to Kampala.
Check out, and then drive straight to Kampala with an enroute lunch in Fort portal town. Arrive in Kampala in the afternoon, and later on proceed to the airport
